Environment ISO 14001:2015

The environment has always been a focal point at Karl M. Gulbrandsen Stansefabrikk AS. KMG works continuously to reduce its environmental impact and to increase the environmental efficiency in all parts of the supply chain by preventing and reducing resource consumption, emissions, and waste, as well as regular substitution. KMG has chosen Stena Solutions as its total supplier of waste management solutions after thorough review of the market’s multiple suppliers.

KMG wishes to get economic and operational benefits that can be reached through implementation of environmental friendly alternatives that also strengthen the organization’s market position. KMG prefers customers and external suppliers who are genuinely aware of their environmental impact. KMG affects all our partners with our environmental thinking, and shall communicate environmental information to relevant customers and external suppliers.

KMG uses REACH candidate list, RoHS directorate and Conflict minerals platform (Dodd-Frank Consumer Protection Act) with reference to the products and services we manufacture and deliver, as well as requesting all our external suppliers to obtain material and origin certificates to the extent that we consider it necessary.

KMG is doing its best to keep the balance between the three sustainability pillars, namely the environment, society, and the economy. We attempt to control or influence the way products and services are shaped, produced, distributed, and used by using the lifecycle perspective that can prevent the environmental impact from unintentionally shifting to other stages in the cycle.

KMG has an internal environmental group that is
actively responsible for and upgrades environmental aspects on an annual basis, as well as ensuring that our environmental program is conducted according to current laws and regulations.

KMG is genuinely interested and involved in the community and the recreational areas around the factory. KMG has a flood embankment around the factory in conjunction with Nitelva. This area is a nature reserve and inhabits multiple threatened species.

KMG has a very good dialogue with Skedsmo commune. We go far in order to preserve the outside environment around the factory. KMG wishes for everyone who uses the trail, as well as the residents in the local area, to have access to the outside area, and to feel safe when they enjoy it.

We have annually completed environmental reports (miljørapport) since 2010 and working environment reports (arbeidsmiljørapport) since 2011.
