  • Acquisition

    19th June :
Acquisition of the Sola Group. Sola Gruppen A/S was owned and run by Stein Halvorsen and Yngvar Holmsen since 1987. They both worked at KMG till 1987, when they decided to create their own company.

Sola Gruppen was during the following 10 years a close partner of KMG, and KMG was by far their biggest costumer in terms of punching tools.

With its new owners, KMG was changing and evolving at a rapid rate. KMG saw a need to build up its own tool department, and to bring extensive tool experience in under its own roof. At the same time, it was in KMG interest to get access to modern tool machines and people experienced with these.

Therefore, KMG bought and acquired the interiors of Solan Gruppen, as well as their machines, knowhow, products, customers, and all four employees. The purchase also led to KMG’s new customers in the road and transportation sector, as one of Sola’s products was “sikkerhersmaster” for high-speed roads.
